In 2022, two African politicians, Zitto Kabwe and Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu joined The Brenthurst Foundation on a field trip to Ukraine, the fifth by the Foundation since the Russian invasion on 24 February 2022.
Robert, better known by his stage name Bobi Wine, recorded two solidarity songs in Lviv with the local band String Mockingbird, featuring Sofia Grabovetska, and written by Greg Mills, Robin Auld, Murray Anderson, and Bobi.
The production of Brothers in Freedom was managed collaboratively in real-time from Jenny Records in Lviv and Milestone Studios in Cape Town.
This is the second of two tracks, following the release of ‘Alone But Altogether’ in October 2022.
