TikTok has a new most-followed creator on the platform: Khaby Lame, a 22-year-old from Senegal who rose to fame by stitching and dueting other TikToks, wordlessly fixing viral “life hacks” that didn’t initially work.

As of yesterday, Khaby Lame has 142.7 million followers, eclipsing longtime leading TikTok creator Charli D’Amelio to take the number one spot.

According to the analytics site Social Blade, Lame has gained 3 million followers in the past month, while D’Ameilo has gained 1 million.

While both content creators have different sections of audiences on the app, there has been a recent push from Lame’s followers to push him to the top spot.

Using the hashtag #KhabyToNumberOne, the TikTok users started a movement that has seen the creator’s follower growth boost in recent months.

With 2.3 billion likes across his videos, there is no doubt that Lame is certainly on to a winning formula.

Khaby has continued from success to success after signing a partnership with Hugo Boss and collaborating with his hometown soccer club Juventus F.C. last year.

He has also fulfilled some childhood dreams after meeting Lionel Messi and making videos with Zlatan Ibrahimović and Usain Bolt.

Will anyone be able to dethrone Khaby Lame as the king of TikTok?
